Baltimore, MD — In a stunning display of dominance, the New York Knicks obliterated the Boston Celtics 119–81 in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals Friday night at Madison Square Garden, winning the series 4–2 and securing their first trip to the Eastern Conference Finals since 2000.

The Garden was electric, and so were the Knicks, who turned in one of their most complete performances of the season.

Game 6 Highlights:

  • Jalen Brunson led all scorers with 28 points and 7 assists. The Knicks’ floor general controlled the pace from the opening tip, finding seams in the defense and converting tough mid-range jumpers.

  • Karl-Anthony Towns was a force on both ends, finishing with 24 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 blocks. His three-pointer midway through the third quarter sparked a 15–0 run that buried the Celtics.

  • OG Anunoby, often overlooked, had a massive two-way performance with 18 points and lockdown defense on Jayson Tatum, who was held to just 14 points on 5-of-17 shooting.

  • Josh Hart, the heart of the Knicks’ hustle, contributed 12 points, 9 rebounds, and countless momentum-shifting plays — including a put-back dunk late in the second quarter that blew the roof off the Garden.

  • Team Defense: The Knicks held the Celtics to just 35% shooting from the field and forced 16 turnovers. Jaylen Brown was limited to 12 points and sat out much of the fourth quarter as Boston waved the white flag.

Locker Room and Postgame Reaction

“We were locked in,” Brunson said postgame. “We felt disrespected after Game 5. This one was personal.”

Karl-Anthony Towns echoed the sentiment. “We’re not done yet. This is just another step toward the goal,” he said.

Coach Tom Thibodeau, who’s faced criticism for his rigid style in the past, was all smiles after the win. “The effort, the discipline, the unselfishness — this is what playoff basketball is all about,” he said.

Next Stop: Indiana

The Knicks will face the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals, starting Wednesday, May 21, at Madison Square Garden. The Pacers, led by Tyrese Haliburton and Myles Turner, defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers in five games.

New York is now four wins away from its first NBA Finals appearance since 1999.
